Fly Fishing Film Tour Play and Win Contest Starts Today!

With only 29 days until the start of the 2008 Fly Fishing Film Tour, we thought it was time to turn things up a notch. We have started posting tour selected videos in the 'screen room' and tickets for the tour are now on sale. We have also managed to create one of the biggest fly fishing related giveaway contests we have ever heard of and it starts today! The name of the contest is the Fly Fishing Film Tour Play and Win Contest, or FFFTP&WC for short.

To be eligible for the drawing, you need to sign up for our newsletter here. By signing up you will have one entry, and your name could be chosen. The cool thing is you can control your odds, by inviting your friends into the contest, once you connect to the Member Login section of the AEG Media web site, you will see the option to send postcards. This is your ticket to more entries, for every person that signs up for the newsletter from your postcard, you will receive one more entry, if 100 of your friends sign up, you receive 100 extra entries! For more details, read this.

On to the contest...

Today's item:

A 5 wt Sharkskin fly line from Scientific Anglers, retail value - $99.95

SA says:
"Available in WF3 through WF8 floating ‘Ultimate Trout Taper’ versions, the
new Sharkskin lines are designed with features that mimic nature - like the
ability of insects being able to walk on water. Anglers will quickly notice the
textured pattern on the line instead of the typical smooth surface -
accomplished by 3M’s microreplication process that applies a structured/pattern
surface around the entire circumference of the fly line."
AEG's report-

Thad brought a few 5wt Trout Tapers to Mongolia with him halfway though the trip, I was amazed at how well the lines cast and fished in a variety of situations.
If you haven't signed up already, click on the image below to enter the Play and Win Contest. Every day we will announce a new item and draw a name from our list of entries. For more chances to win, check out the contest details and increase your odds.
The winner of today's drawing will be announced tomorrow at 10am pacific time, so check back to see if you won.
In order to claim your prize you need to contact us, either by email or responding to this blog post within one week, after the week is up, we will put the item back up for grabs and everyone will have another shot at winning.

Edit: We have a winner - Cory Street from SLC Utah wins the Shark Skin! Cory you have 1 week to claim your prize or else this line will be thrown back into the gear pile and offered up again.

Tour Update

So there has been a lot of questions and request regarding the upcoming tour schedule.

Arranging the schedule each year is nothing short of a pain in the ass and a miracle. Trying to locate and contact theater venues that can accommodate our type of event takes a lot of time and hundreds of phone calls and emails. Aside from finding a venue with a digital projector the next hurdle is coordinating the schedule with available dates at the theaters and trying to keep a decent driving route. Multiply that by the hundreds of emails we are getting from across the country requesting that the film tour make a stop in their town.

The unfortunate situation is that we can not make it to every request that comes in, but we do our best to try and make it to centrally located cities.

Here is how the film tour is going to roll this winter.
Currently we have 21 live shows dialed in. If you are in or near those cites you can come party with us face to face mono e mono.

For the rest of the cities on the tour schedule we are doing a satellite broadcast to 72 movie theaters across the country all on the same night. (March 13th)

While we won’t be their in person the film tour will still carry the same excitement and the show will be the same as the live version. Besides, a lot of you thought I talked too much anyway last year and threw bottles at me to get off the stage and start the movie.

So the next question everyone wants to know is what films are going to be in the line up this year?

We had over 50 submissions for the 2008 film tour. It has been a tough decision trying to narrow it down to the finalist. Teasers of the films we will be touring will start showing up in our screen room next week.

Next question, When do tickets go on sale?
Tickets will go on sale January 1st and can be purchased on our web site.

We are offering pre sale tickets to all our shows through the web site. For the 72 shows across the country on March 13th, the only way you will be able to get a ticket is to purchase them on the film tour web site. We will not be selling tickets at the door for those shows.

For the live shows I highly suggest buying your tickets on line as we had several shows that sold out last year. And don’t forget to sign up for our Play And Win contest. We will be giving away swag every day starting in January all the way up to the launch of the film tour.
